Saint Laurent defends the traditional values of sunglasses this season. Anthony Vaccarello staked on “retro aviators” in the Spring-Summer 2024 collection – on the catwalk the military-air pedigree of the glasses, once created for pilots, was emphasized with the help of leather flight helmets. “Aviators” were also included in Bottega Veneta’s resort collection, only with yellow lenses and sardine-shaped temples, the brand’s symbol for the past few seasons.

Another retro touch are the thin metal-rimmed sunglasses that have been inescapably popular for several seasons in a row. Now they’re obviously riding the librarian-core and Office Siren trends. The main model that fashionistas are hunting for is Triomphe Celine sunglasses in golden frames. They became the best-selling pair on the Mytheresa platform last summer, and fashion publications are still compiling a selection of alternatives. And we’re no exception here.
Pop Art
Already an annual summer tradition: new hit sunglasses by Jonathan Anderson from Loewe Paula’s Ibiza collection. The designer doesn’t hold himself back: his frames look like craters or flowers, they are convex or concave or studded with crystals. We have to agree with the principle – bright accessories in the bright sun?
The simpler the better
Eyewear with small, slightly elongated lenses is an off-trend accessory. It’s no coincidence that in the Lyst ranking for the first quarter of 2024, the only glasses in the top 10 most coveted products were Saint Laurent Rectangular SL 557 with narrow, elongated frames.
